Creating A Style…

I wanted the style of the subscription box to draw from the forest with colors of evergreen trees and using a plain brown box for a more earthy feel as well as using a typeface in the logo that makes the brand feel curated and knowledgable. The white mushrooms on the outside of the box, were stamps I made using a laser cutter from several drawings I created of local mushrooms. Each stamp was individually pressed onto the box for a handmade touch.

Rhyme And Reason…

I decided to create the subscription box, Modern Forager, because I wanted to create an easy way for people to learn how to forage in the woods. Beginning foraging with no road map can be very intimidating for those who have never done it. With this subscription box, my hope is to give newbies a starting point and guide on how to safely gather food in the forest. I am personally passionate about mushroom foraging as my family and I have found it as a way to bond every fall and I want to share that special feeling with the masses.
